And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now
(Verse 2)
And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later its over
I just don't want to miss you tonight
(Chorus)
And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
(Verse 3)
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know your alive
(Chorus)
And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am (x2)
I just want you to know who I am (x4)
I chose the song "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls because the lyrics reflect seperation. Romeo and Juliet are barely together from the night they meet to before their deaths. At first they were seperated by a fish tank, then by family and friends, misfortune, and finally death. The lyrics in the song are reflecting seperation because in the second verse two people are together, but not for long, soon it will all be over and they don't want to keep on leaving each other and deal with missing one another. Romeo and Juliet can not be together due to their familie's hatred towards each other, and they feel that no one in the world understands that they love each other so much that they need to be with each other or else there is no point in living in this world. No matter what happens to them, even when they are seperated they want each other to remember that they love the other so much and they don't ever want them to forget that.
